When your body strikes back
awesome right?Anywayyyy, since I can't do anyyy physical activity, including walking up and down stairs, I have taken to other valuable activities. This includes eating an entire pineapple in one sitting, shopping and contemplating between using my barnes and noble giftcard for Where the Wild Things Are and/or Twilight: New Moon OR starting the Chelsea Handler series. Decisions, decisions, they pain me so.

Highlight: Waking up able to actually breathe this morning, first time in three days.
Lowlight: Not being able to do any physical activity (or maybe that's a highlight?
)
Wearing: Bakers black wedges, 344 strapless dress, H.G. Bass grey cardigan, 344 green summer scarf
Recent Purchase: 3 dresses and a scarf from 344: one formal short tank sleeved number with a white draped top black strapes and waist colorblock and a dusty rose runched bottom, one coral drape necked empire waist minidress, and a light brown floral-ish strapless dress with a scrunchie kinda top. The scarf is the most beautiful soft grass green scarf that goes with everything and reminds me of “The Girl in the Green Scarf” from Confessions of a Shopoholic.
Wanted: Steve Madden Feaver wedges in Natural and Jeffrey Cambell's Clinics (pictured below)

So there was a deal. This summer I am relaxing in air condition watching Private Practice and Real Housewives of New Jersey all while being copiously paid. I am spending my summer in a premiere Massachusetts town. I am still at Babson. I am working full time. And some people might grimace at the sound of working, full-time, and staying at school over the summer. I am stoked. I am living on my own, cooking my own meals, and excited to finally stand on my own two feet. However, a deal was made between my parents and I. A deal that consisted of me staying in Wellesley this summer, but having to put a whopping 90% of my bi-weekly paychecks into my savings account, never to be seen again (or at least until I no longer want those BCBG pumps from Nordstrom). This turns my glorious nearly four digits into below three digits. Am I pleased? NO. In fact, it's my own personal hell. And I will explain this to your with a little story. Today, I did nothing. I put paper in two printers, and that's it. So what did I do for the other 7hours and 55minutes? Well, I took an hour lunch and got ribs and potato salad (yum). I watched six episodes of Private Practice, one episode of Real Housewives of New Jersey (until I decided there's too much swearing to watch out loud at work), and I shopped. And I found some ADORABLE stuff. Clothes that made me want to melt away into the world of couture.

Delicious right? There are also a couple dresses at Express (my very first credit card came from here!) Each of these items evoke excitement inside of me. I don't like wearing old clothes. I try not to wear anything older than a year or two (vintage simply doesn't count). Shopping is my hobby, my habit, my addiction. Call it what you may, it makes me happy. When I retrieve a package from the mailroom and dubiously rip it open immediately, I get a rush of adrenaline. When I wear my new article for the first time and get multiple compliments on it, I am satisfied with myself. It's not about what other people think of me, or keeping up with the styles, it's about wanting that love and rush of confidence of wearing something awesome. Expanding the horizons of basics and blooming into something beautiful. I love shopping. I love buying. I love getting. And thus, this budget is knocking me into a anti-shopping slump.
And that my friend, is today's soapbox.
So.
Highlight: Moving into a new room from Publishers to VanWinkle and LOVING the new living space (and liking my roommate!
)
Lowlight: Having a meeting about summer housing tonight at 7 aka delaying my eating time.
Wearing: H.G. Bass creamy brown knee high boots, Nike running leggings (the best leggings that NEVER fall down), 21 long-sleeve base shirt, olive green short sleeve Abercrombie sweater dress, bronze bowed headband, black glasses.
Recent Purchase: 2 pairs white jeans. One straight legged for work, one Levis skinny destroyed already marked with dirt by the ankles and 2 peppermint ice cream stains by the knees. Typical me, but I do love the look of white pants, light and summery but not side by side with the skin, so doesn't reveal how ice pale I am.
Wanted: Josh Brody backless mini dress. (pictured above)

This is how it starts.
two older sisters,
two adorable dogs. Scooter is my dog (Sadie is my sister's). He's a 7 year old golden lab/pitbullishnotreally mix. He's a mutt. He's also a headcase. He's allergic to beef, and cheese, and peanut butter. He gets an abnormal amount of beestings, typically in his eye. He's afraid of thunderstorms, boxes, the vaccum, and the older bigger pitbul Sadie. He thinks he's a hunter. Scooter is my dog. When I'm home, he follows me around. He sleeps on my bed, he listens to me, and I'm the only one he cuddles with. He also just like me. I'm a bit of a headcase, and used to be allergic to diary, nuts, and fish (luckily I grew out of the allergies and now loveee all of the aboveee). Scooter and I, we're two peas in an electic blanketed pod.
Another importantt aspect of me, I have never and will never go to a public school. I cringe at the sight of non-uniformed uncaring students. I went to Infant Jesus of Prague Grammar school, followed by two years at Marian Catholic High School, two years at Culver Academies, and just finished my freshman year at Babson College.
I have friends here and there, most of them are named Tess or Katie, sometimes Sarah and Christy. I also revolve around them. Although I have a habit of forgetting to call back, I'd bend over backwards for them. Of course, there's a boyfriend; there's always a boyfriend, my utter fear of lonlieness prevents the whole-single weirdness. His name's Dan. He's goofy and has the ultimate blonde jewfro. It's adorable. I've noticed that I'm better with guys than girls. I always have 1-2 girls that are the bees kness to me, but I find it's just much easier to have guy friends. No grudges, no drama. It's pretty awesome.
Anything else about my life? I'm accident prone. I've sprained my ankle numerous times and broken it once from falling down stairs. Funny thing is, it's always been in gym shoes. I'm much better at heels. I dislike any physical activity. I don't work out, sometimes I do yoga, I used to be a fencer. I hold the best in the midwest title, the trophies to prove it, no big deal. :]
You should also probably know that sometimes, I have an ego problem, that my ego is sometimes too big, really too big.
